Art, Architecture, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Tree Branches and A-List Smiles

What do they have in common? The Golden Proportion. Also known as the Golden Mean, Golden Ratio, and de divinia proportione, or the Divine Proportion. The most pleasing geometric relationship of parts to a whole.

Put simply, great minds throughout history have recognized a basic set of proportions that are common to all things of uncommon beauty, both natural and man-made.

When I work with you to bring out your best Signature Smile, my vision is guided by this time-tested artistic principle. Here's a list of some of the areas I focus on when I evaluate smiles.

·     Is the shape of your teeth appropriately masculine or feminine
·     What is the shade of your overall smile; are any teeth darker than the others
·     Do the tips of your teeth show when you smile slightly and when you speak
·     How does the length of your central incisors compare to your other front teeth
·     How does the width of your central incisors compare to your other front teeth
·     Do your teeth have any gaps, protrusions, cracks, chips or fractures
·     Are your teeth crowded or overlapping
·     Are you missing any teeth
·     Do your restorations – fillings, crowns, veneers - look natural when you smile
·     Are there stains, discolorations or unsightly restorations on your back teeth
·     Do your gums show when you smile broadly
·     Are your guns red or swollen and have they receded from the tops of your teeth
·     Do your gums curve around the top of each tooth in a half-moon shape
·     Does the midline of your teeth align with the midline of your face
·     Do your teeth complement your facial shape
